Whether you’re by the ocean or a mile high, I’m here to help you!

Does this sound like you?

“I don’t have the time or energy to give my tourism business the proper marketing it needs.”

“Booking companies aren’t properly marketing my business and it’s hurting my sales. I wish I had more traffic on my own website.”

“My website it hard to find on Google. People searching for things to do in my area are not seeing my business’s website.”

What a Tourism Copywriter Can Do For You!

Hi, my name is John Gunnerson. I love helping fun and engaging tourist businesses (like yours) get the visibility and customers they deserve. In this post-covid world it has never been more important to reintroduce and reinforce your brand. Whether your goal is to:

  • Book more people

  • Gain a better referral network

  • Increase clicks and online traffic

  • Refine your ideal client

  • Rank higher on Google

  • Improve your business social media platforms

Exciting copy is one of the best things you can invest in!

That’s where I come in. I believe every business in the tourism industry has its own voice and story. Much of the tourism industry relies on third party booking companies like cruise ships and tour agencies to promote and sell your attraction. While helpful, they remove you from the front lines and make you a spectator in your own sales. I partner with you in writing copy that speaks your business’s language, allowing you to speak for yourself.

Tourism Copy provides you the opportunity to engage people and turn them into customers long before they reach your destination. You offer a little slice of your experience to them in the comfort of their own home. It makes your website the centerpiece for booking and removes an over-reliance on third party companies. With SEO you can even rise higher in the Google search ranks. Simply put, excellent copy like SEO optimized website copy and blogs make you more engaging and more visible.

The bottom line is customers are looking for the best experience and your business provides the best experience. I make that connection.

About Me

Hi again, I’m John. In the summer of 2018 I was given an opportunity that would change my life. I was a sophomore in college in between semesters and was given the chance to go work for a Dungeness Crab restaurant in Ketchikan, Alaska. It primarily catered to tourists at port from cruise ships. Due to Ketchikan’s southern location we were often the very first taste of Alaska that people had. I had a blast! (And developed an obsession with Dungy Crab.)

In 2022 as a newly married college graduate I returned to Ketchikan as a tour guide for the only Duck Boat company in Alaska. This time I worked daily in the shadow of the cruise ships, interacting with hundreds of tourists a day. I loved mingling with people whose only goal was to have a good time.

One fringe benefit of those jobs is that I interacted frequently with Business owners in the tourism industry. I gained a lot sympathy for how time-consuming running a tourism based business can be. I also saw how much reliance owners had on the cruise ships and tour operators to sell their product.

On those days when the third parties weren’t booking to our needs I grew to appreciate the value that came from being able to market yourself. You market yourself through strong tourism copy. I want to help you save time, energy and money. I want to help you find that independence and freedom in your business!
